The motion was nnanimmJSly approved (3-0). <br /> <br />RR~CRRnm.R AUGUST WORlC~Il'SSlON <br /> <br />MOTION: Hicks moved and Aplikowski seconded a motion to reschedule the August <br />Council wOJtsession from August 18, 1994, to August 31, 1994, at 4:30 p.m., <br />to be held at the TCAAP ,bup<<lty. <br /> <br />Person referred Councilmembers to a letter on the Stowe Avenue reconstruction that will be <br />discussed at the Council Worksession on August 31, 1994. <br /> <br />Aplikowski asked if the Ci1;y is participating in the :M'inn~ Cities' Week. <br /> <br />Person answered that no plans have been made, but staff would be open to whatever the <br />Council deems ....pJop.iate. <br /> <br />ApJikowski requested that this item be included in the budget for next year with a notice in <br />the newspaper indicating that Arden Hills is a sponsor and participant in .Cities' Week.. She <br />added that she would like to see the Council and Ci1;y officials reach out more into the <br />comn.lollit)'. She has had three conversations with residents who do not know how to access <br />Ci1;y Hall, and there are residents who do not know where it is located. She empha~7ed the <br />need for public relations measures and requested that a worksession agenda include a <br />discussion of publisbing a newsletter. <br /> <br />Aplikowski questioned publisbing information regarding lJS!'.-.nents. She stated that she has <br />received telephone calls and would like to pursue a better system for informing residents of <br />the procedure and time1ine of appealing assessments. <br /> <br />Person stated that special information on llS"p<:.",,,,..I~ was distributed this year, but staff will <br />draft a full procedure with time d.....dline!l. <br />
