Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, December 27, 1988 <br /> Page 3 I <br /> COMMITTEES (Cont/d) Councilman Sather reported William Bauer, Chair of the <br /> Cable Commission, advised there was no apparent need to <br /> continue the Cable Commission as the original charge of the commission was to <br /> oversee drafting of the cable licensing agreement. Bauer explained the interest <br /> level to expand commission functions does not appear to be present. <br /> .. There was discussion relative to disbanding the committee in 1989. <br /> Council questioned if the Newsletter Committee has been productive: it was noted <br /> that minutes from the committee meetings are not forwarded to Council. <br /> Councilmember Peck suggested the committee could report to staff as most of the <br /> information published is received after the event occurs. <br /> Mayor Woodburn stated that all committees report directly to Council. <br /> Berger advised that minutes from the committee have not been received by City <br /> s taU. <br /> Council requested staff advise the Committee to submit minutes to Council. <br /> Councilmember Hansen advised the Public Safety/Works Committee would prefer to <br /> stay combined and she noted that members are needed to fill vacancies. <br /> Council discussed the Board of Appeals and the possible appointment of its <br /> members to the Planning Commission. It was noted that the Board of Appeals is <br /> required by State Statute, however, the City can regulate its functions. <br /> . there was discussionrelative to the Planning snd Human Rights Commissions <br /> appointments. <br /> Council concurred to review any requests for appointments from residents and take <br /> action on this matter at the next Council meeting scheduled for January 3, 1989. <br /> CLAIMS & PAYROLL Peck moved, seconded by Sather, that Council approve <br /> Claims and Payroll as submitted. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (5-0) <br /> REQ. TO PARK BUS: Council was referred to a request from Jerome Hudella, <br /> 1179 TILLER LANE 1179 Tiller Lane, to park a school bus in his driveway <br /> at certain times during weekdays. <br /> Clerk Administrator Berger advised the request was due to medical problems <br /> Hudella is experiencing. <br /> Council discussed the interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance which prohibits <br /> parking such vehicles in residential areas. There was Council concern expressed <br /> , relative to setting a precedent for parking school buses in residential areas. <br /> Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council grants <br /> permission to Jerome Hude1la, 1179 Tiller Lane, to park a school bus at his <br /> residence on school days between the hours of 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., 12:15 to 1:30 <br /> p.m., and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and, conditioned upon: <br /> 1. The bus remaining entirely in the driveway of the residence. <br /> 2. The bus will not be parked at the residence during the summer months, <br /> on weekends or school holidays. <br /> 3. If complaints are received rs1ative to the hus parking the Council will <br /> reconsider permission. <br /> RES. #88-41: Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve <br /> ARBOR DAY Resolution No. 88-41, Establishing the last Saturday in <br /> PROCLAMATION April as Arbor Day and Mayas Arbor Month. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (5-0) <br /> RESIGNATION; Council discussed the pending resignation of Mayor <br /> MAYOR WOODBURN Woodburn and procedures for appointment to fill the <br /> unexpired term. <br /> , SCHEDULE CLOSED Hansen moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Council schedule <br /> MTG; KEM MILLING a Closed Meeting immediately following the Special <br /> Council Meeting held January 3, 1989, at 5:30 p.m., to <br /> discuss Kem Milling litigation. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />
