AND Council was referred to Buckley's memorandum of 8-6-87; <br /> PROGRAM PERSONNEL relative to his recommendations for hiring an interim <br /> seasonal maintenance person and additional program <br /> personnel. <br /> Council questioned the salary increase for the interim employee; Buckley <br /> advised that the person he recommended was an older mature person, college <br /> graduate, and had more experience. He explained that $4.75 is the base salary <br /> and when an employee has been hired for more than one year they receive a <br /> salary increase. <br /> Councilmember Peck questioned if the individual was hired next year would he <br /> receive an increase; Buckley advised that one of the individuals working this <br /> year is making $5.50 per hour because he had been with the City three years. <br /> -"I.c""\__,'\ ". V.i,-z~--i"(":,.., <br /> FALL FESTIVAL The Parks Director reported on the planned activities <br /> STATUS REPORT for the annual Arden Hills Fall Festival, to be held <br /> on September 12th. <br /> Buckley stated that the activities will be centered at the Arden Plaza Center <br /> and include an art show, booya, kiddie parade, craft and food fair. He noted <br /> that this year there would be an amateur contest and persons interested in <br /> participating may contact Buckley at the Village Hall, Jill Hansen at the <br /> Chamber Office or Steve Carlson, Chairman for the event. <br /> NO. SNELLING PARK The Parks Director stated that he would report on <br /> the development of North Snelling Park at a future <br /> Council meeting. <br /> DRAINAGE COMPLT. Council was referred to a letter from Forrest Bear, <br /> TILLER & DELLWOOD 1234 Tiller Lane, relative to proposed building on <br /> property in his area that is considered by the <br /> neighbors to be a holdin~ pond. <br /> Council was referred to a memorandum from the Zoning Adminfst~~tor, 6-25-87, <br /> . which advised that the home constructed ~ Dellwood Avenueiwas granted a <br /> variance by the Board of Appeals and permission from Rice Creek Watershed to <br /> mod", ".. fl~.,. ~._, 00 ".. P'O"'i " . . <br /> A copy of the Planner's letter to the owne /~f the property (8-]-87), was also ~" ') <br /> , <br /> reviewed. Miller advised the owner of the lot to contact the City Engineer to - CO" <br /> . . ensure that the City's concerns regarding drainage in this area are addressed;-' <br /> ~- also advised the owner to pursue Rice Creek Watershed approval. <br /> Council concurred that staff direct a letter to Forrest Bear which explains <br /> that the City cannot deny use of a lot of record and respond to the other <br /> concerns listed in the letter; also to thank Mr. Bear for bringing the matter <br /> to the City's attention. <br /> TREASURER REPORT <br /> . RESIGNATION OF Council was referred to a letter from Donald Lamb <br /> TREAS. D. LAMB advising of his resignation as Village Treasurer, to <br /> be effective no later than August 31, 1987. <br /> - -------- <br />
