<br /> .s- <br /> - . <br /> MINUTES OF THE REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Wednesday, August 5, 1987, 7:30 p.m. - Village Hall <br /> CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Vice-Chairman <br /> - Calvin Meury called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> .. ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Acting-Chairman Calvin Meury, Peter Martin, Scott <br /> Petersen, Rick Savage and Gary Thorn. <br /> Absent: Robert Curtis, Thomas ~abcook, Dorothy Zebm and Paul <br /> Malone. <br /> Also Present: Mayor Robert Woodburn (8:15 p.m.), Planner Orlyn <br /> Miller, Clerk Administrator Patricia Morrison and <br /> Deputy Clerk Catherine Iago. <br /> APPROVE MINUTES Moved by Martin, seconded by Savage, that the Minutes <br /> of the July 1, 1987 Planning Commission meeting be <br /> approved as submitted. Motion carried. (Martin, Savage, Meury voting in favor; <br /> Petersen and Thorn abstained) (3-0-2) <br /> CASE #87-25; AMENDED Planner Miller reviewed his report (7-13-87), relative <br /> SITE PLAN/PKING LOT to the proposal to expand the existing parking lot at <br /> EXPAN; MSI INSURANCE MSI Insurance to provide an additional 152 spaces. <br /> Miller explained that the proposed expansion meets all ordinance requirements <br /> for setbacks and site coverage. He noted that MSI is proposing to relocate or <br /> replace all plant materials disturbed by the expansion. Miller recommended the <br /> west corner of the site be given special attention when trees are transplanted, <br /> . because it would become more visible; placement of evergreen groupings in that <br /> area would be desirable. <br /> William Bretzke, Director of Building Services at MSI, stated the company was <br /> agreeable to intensification of the landscaping, per Miller's recommendations. <br /> Member Thorn asked if the building space was fully occupied at this time to <br /> necessitate the parking expansion, <br /> Bretzke advised that all four floors of the building were utilized at present, <br /> but not to capacity; he projected the building to be utilized to full capacity <br /> by 1990. <br /> Moved by Petersen, seconded by Martin, that Commission <br /> recommend to Council approval of Case #87-25, Amended Site Plan Review for <br /> Parking Lot Expansion at Two Pine Tree Drive, Mutual Service Insurance, <br /> conditioned upon applicant submission of an intensified landscape plan which <br /> addresses the following; <br /> a. Regrading of berms as indicated on grading plan. <br /> b. Relocation or replacement of all disturbed plant materials. <br /> c. Placement of plant materials at the west corner of the parking lot. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> . <br /> ---- ------ <br />
