Village of Arden Hills <br /> March 5, 1987 <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Sorensen. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: Howard Sorensen, Susan Erickson, Pat Fish, Jane Dean, Tim <br /> Byrne <br /> Absent: Shirley Chase, Joan Growe, Deanna Supino, Barb Younoszai, <br /> Lois Donalds <br /> Also Present: Councilman Gary Peck <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> It was moved by Erickson, seconded by Dean, that the minutes of December <br /> 11, 1986, be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Pacer Pro~ram Report <br /> The Pacer program was presented at Valentine Hills School ($100, two <br /> presentations), and Island Lake School ($150, three sessions). At both <br /> schools, one-half of the cost of presentation was assumed by the PTO. An <br /> additional segment devoted to acquainting children with the problems of <br /> the mentally retarded had been added to the program. Notes of <br /> appreciation have been received from the principals of both schools. <br /> . Commission felt this to be a worthwhile, ongoing project; would like to <br /> continue in 1988. <br /> No Fault Grievance Report <br /> Commission members have dealt with two cases since the last meeting. One <br /> is still being adjudicated; concerns alleged discrimination in a layoff <br /> situation. The other has been satisfactorily resolved between the <br /> plaintiff and employer; concerned alleged racial discrimination. <br /> Trainin~ Sessions. No Fault Grievance Procedure <br /> Jane Dean and Sue Erickson will be attending a training session, sponsored <br /> by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, on April 4, at John Glenn Jr. <br /> Hi~h School. Pat Fish plans to attend a session on April II, at the <br /> Fridley City Hall. <br /> 1fommittee Resi~nation <br /> The committee regretfully accepted Jill Peterson's resignation from the <br /> Commission, due to conflicts in meeting time and a crowded personal <br /> schedule. <br /> Ad;ournment <br /> It was moved by Fish, seconded by Erickson, that the meeting be adjourned <br /> at 8:10 p.m. <br /> Submitted by Shirley Marshall. <br /> . ********** <br />
