February 26, 1987 <br /> Ca 1 I to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Cha I r Barbara <br /> Piotrowski <br /> Roll Ca II <br /> Present: Barbara Piotrowski, Dave Carlson, Jean <br /> Lemberg, Ray McGraw and Tim Tuggle. <br /> Also Present: Mayor Robert Woodburn, Mr. & Mrs. George <br /> Spang and Mr. & Mrs. George Grenander. <br /> Oaths of 0 ff I ce <br /> The Oaths of Office were administered by Mayor Robert Woodburn to <br /> a/I members. <br /> Approval of MI nutes <br /> Approval of the October 30, 1986 MInutes was post-poned unt I 1 the <br /> next regular meetIng. <br /> Case No. 87-02 (A & B) - Sldeyard Setback Variance, 4183 and 4173 <br /> . Norma Aven ue - Spang and Grenander <br /> The Board determined there Is hardship in both cases requesting <br /> the varl ances, the Spangs and Grenanders appear to be innocent <br /> victims, and through no fault of their own, their homes were <br /> built by Steiner Construction In vIolation of City Ordinance. <br /> The houses were platted on Improperly surveyed lots. The Board <br /> realizes that without the approval of th e variances, these <br /> homeowners would have troub Ie sell tng the properties at a f ut u re <br /> date without clear title. <br /> Un de r duress and with resignation, the Board voted unanimously <br /> to approve the two requested variances, with these comments: <br /> /. The Board a g re e d It would be appropriate to fine <br /> the builder for violation of a City Ordinance. <br /> 2 . The Board questioned If there Is some action the <br /> Council could take to prevent this type of mistake <br /> In the future. <br /> 3.
