Morrison, Clerk Administrator Re: Informational Items --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ramsey County Sheriff's Contract Attached is "Exhibit B" which is a part of the Ramsey County Contract, approved by the Council on June 29.. Frank Herbst has reviewed all the existing equipment, and delineated deleted equipment. With this year's purchases from our account, the equipment is nearly fully replaced; therefore, next year the only equipment purchases that are now foreseeable are: a security screen, and possible miscellaneous expenditures. The 1976 pack sets and mobile units are still in excellent condition. Assessments on Improvement Proiects We should conduct our assessment hearings in August (hopefully, the first meeting) . It is my understanding we will be assessing: Northwoods (100X); Edgewater (100X), Glenhill (up to 50X of Arden Hill's costs). We will need to determine percentage we will be assessing Glenhill, and, if . we want to assess for Hamline Avenue and the Round Lake Interceptor Project (if we assess, percentage to be assessed and basis, i.e. front foot, area, etc.). Upon Council determination of above, a resolution will be submitted to you Ordering Preparation of the Assessment Rolls, and a Resolution Calling the Hearings. Citizens for a Better Environment This organization (a 501 public charity) will be conducting a canvass in our community on August 1 through September 15, during the hours of 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays. We have received a listing of their canvassers (which has been given to Ramsey County Sheriff's Office) and the canvassers will carry photo ID's. No ParkinR - Royal Lane Bob Raddatz informs me that the no parking signs will be posted on Royal Lane the first part of the week of July 13. Noise Decibels, Lake Johanna The Council at the June 29 meeting, expressed concern over speed and noise of boats on Lake Johanna. I have attached a copy of Chapter 12 of the Arden Hills Code, which relates directly to Lake Johanna, and regulations thereon. Although noise decibels are not directly addressed in the Code, we have. by reference, adopted a portion of the Minnesota Waters and Watercraft Safety Laws, as well as the DNR Boat and Water Safety Rules. With this, we have adopted the following State regulations: . 84 decibels, on the A scale, distance of 50' for engines and motorboats manufactured before January, 1992;
