Page 3 <br /> Sanitation - $5,800 is budgeted for possible development of a recycling plan in <br /> 1988. The subcommittee will, however, be presenting a report to Council <br /> suggesting a larger investment in recycling. The report will be presented <br /> later. <br /> Storm Sewers - Line item 437 (Other Misc. Expenses) provides funds for <br /> repairing storm sewer lines and cleaning out outfalls. Although not requested <br /> in this budget, Raddatz recommends the City begin accumulating funds for <br /> implementation of the 509 Comprehensive Surface Water Management Plan (could <br /> cost up to $30.000. <br /> Water Utility - Funds are requested for replacement of the aging water van <br /> ($11,660) . <br /> Sewer Utility - $12,000 is provided in capital outlay for lift stations. New <br /> electric controls are needed for Station 7, and Station 6 may have to be <br /> entirely replaced. The inflow-infiltration study update done by SEH in 1987 <br /> indicates that 10,000,000 gallons of infiltration could be prevented by <br /> repairing lines in Ingerson area, $10,000,000 in the trailer park area, and <br /> 10,000,000 in the industrial area near Red Fox and Grey Fox...although to do <br /> so, would require rebuilding the street as well. Raddatz suggests repair of <br /> the lines be correlated with the need for street repairs -- and that City begin <br /> to set aside funds for this purpose (Pavement Management Plan). <br /> , <br />. The $31,800 in 550 (Automotive Equipment) provides for payment for the other <br /> half of the jetter purchased in 1987. <br /> ------- <br /> Raddatz discussed briefly the need for long range planning for development of <br /> the recently purchased land adjoining the City Hall. The philosophy of yearly <br /> setting aside some funds for street reconstruction, purchase of major equipment <br /> items, and sewer line repair and replacement was briefly discussed. <br /> Update on Construction Projects <br /> Northwoods sewer, water, paving, and storm sewer has been installed and <br /> completed...costs are being 1007. assessed to property owners. <br /> Hamline Avenue construction is complete; there will be no assessment on this. <br /> Edaewater Estates - sewer, water, paving, and storm sewer project completed; <br /> costs will be 1007. assessed. <br /> Glenhill Road has been re-paved and storm sewers installed; Arden Hills' costs <br /> were 507. assessed to those properties owners who benefited. <br /> The storm sewer and drainage problem on G1enview Avenue were corrected, at a <br /> cost of $19,000. Funds were diverted from the street sealcoating budget to <br /> cover this cost. <br />. Royal Hill North construction is complete; there appears to be only one <br /> remaining undeveloped lot in the area. <br /> Keithson Addition is almost completed. The County is adding a right turn lane <br />
