For purposes of computing open space, what is proposed to be Lot 23 has been used in the computation~ Orlyn indicates in his correspondence dated March 3, 1987, that the interest of the City would be served if a conveyance of Lot 23 were made to the Depart- ment of the Interior with the restrictions indicated in his March correspondence. My purpose in writing is to bring each of you up to date as to the progress that has been made with respect to the development of Block I and 2 and to request your thoughts as to a conveyance of Lot 23 to secure a release of the easement that effects Lots 1 to 8 in Block 1 of the ,original Edgewater Estates plat. I hope the information that I am enclosing is helpful to you and would appreciate your comments and suggestions. . I am available on short notice to meet with you to discuss your comments and hope that we can bring our request for an easement release to an early con- clusion4 Of course, we understand that the right to overflow to a certain elevation will ,be retained by the Department of the Interior. Should it be felt by the Depart- ment of the Interior that that requirement not be necessary, we would also appre- ciate your comments on that so we may address it separately. As an aside, I might comment that the preliminary plat recites as a name "Edgewater Estates".
