Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 2024 Capital Equipment Purchase — Forestry Head Attachment #464 <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$22,500 (net) $23,764 Equipment Replacement Fund <br />(2024 CIP) <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• 2024 purchase of a forestry Bullhog Mulching Head attachment in the amount of <br />$23,764.00. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The 2024 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes replacement of Bobcat Forestry Head <br />Attachment #464. This attachment clears brush and tree debris within the parks and surrounding <br />trails and sidewalks. <br />Attachment A is a quote for the forestry Bullhog Mulching Head attachment in the amount of <br />$23,764. The auction estimate for the attachment we planned for replacement is $1,000 - $1,500. <br />With the low return, Public Works staff is recommending to keep this piece and use it only as a <br />light brush removal tool. This would allow for better tool/equipment selection and limit <br />unnecessary use of the proposed Bullhead Mulching Head attachment.
