ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL — JANUARY 8, 2024 <br />25 <br />C. Motion To Approve Resolution 2024-002 Appointing 2024 City Council <br />Liaisons For Commissions And Committees And Mayor Pro-Tem <br />Councilmember Holden clarified an item on the Resolution, noting Councilmember Monson <br />would be appointed Mayor Pro-Tem. She requested further information regarding the duties of <br />the Mayor Pro-Tem. <br />Mayor Grant stated in the absence of the Mayor, the Mayor Pro-Tem would serve as the public <br />facing City Council representative. <br />Councilmember Holden asked if Councilmember Monson understood the responsibilities of <br />serving as the Mayor Pro-Tem. <br />Councilmember Monson stated she understood these responsibilities. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Fabel moved and Councilmember Monson seconded a <br />motion to Approve Resolution 2024-002 Appointing 2024 City Council <br />Liaisons For Commissions And Committees And Mayor Pro-Tem. The <br />motion carried 4-1 (Councilmember Holden opposed). <br />D. Motion To Approve Resolution 2024-003 Relating To The 2024 Appointments <br />And Chairs Of The Commissions And Committees Of The City <br />Councilmember Holden stated since the City had no policies for their Commissions and <br />Committees, she wanted further information on how Chair appointments were being brought <br />forward. <br />City Administrator Perrault explained at the December 18 Council Worksession, the Council <br />was asked to discuss the Council liaison appointments. He noted the liaisons were asked to make <br />a recommendation for the Commission/Committee Chair appointments. <br />Councilmember Holden asked if the Council would be discussing the dismissed Chairs. <br />City Administrator Perrault indicated the Council was being asked to make the Chair <br />appointments. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Monson moved and Councilmember Fabel seconded a <br />motion to Approve Resolution 2024-003 Relating To The 2024 Appointments <br />And Chairs Of The Commissions And Committees Of The City. The motion <br />carried 4-1 (Councilmember Holden opposed). <br />G. Motion To Accept Resignation Of Parks, Trails And Recreation Committee <br />Member <br />Councilmember Holden noted during the Public Inquiries portion of the meeting Mark Kelliher <br />gave his resignation from the PTRC. She explained Mark has done an outstanding job eliminating <br />buckthorn from the community. She thanked Mr. Kelliher for his dedicated service to the <br />community and for how diligently he worked to eliminate buckthorn in the community. <br />
