-ARQEN_HILLS <br />Approved: February 12, 2024 <br />[DRAFT--, <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />DECEMBER 18, 2023 <br />5:00 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Grant called to order the City Council <br />Work Session at 5:00 p.m. <br />Present: Mayor David Grant, Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Emily Rousseau, <br />Tena Monson and Tom Fabel <br />Absent: None <br />Also present: City Administrator Dave Perrault, Community Development Director <br />Jessica Jagoe, Assistant Public Works Director Lucas Miller, Assistant to the City <br />Administrator/City Clerk Julie Hanson and TKDA Engineer Dan Nesler <br />1. PUBLIC INQUIRIES/INFORMATIONAL <br />None. <br />2. RESPONSE TO PUBLIC INQUIRIES <br />None. <br />3. AGENDA ITEMS <br />A. South Tower Improvements Project Discussion <br />Assistant Public Works Director Miller explained that Dan Nesler, PE from TKDA would give <br />a short presentation. <br />Mr. Nesler stated that the improvements and repair to the South Tower were identified in the <br />Capital Improvement Plan for 2024. An inspection in 2022 identified a few structural and painting <br />items that need to be addressed. The City also completed the Risk and Resiliency study where <br />some security improvements were recommended. He explained the structural repairs that were <br />needed, possible materials for fencing, and types of gates they could consider. He reviewed the <br />probable costs for repairs, security improvements, construction contingency and engineering costs <br />with a total of $443,017. <br />
