He eXp~ained <br />they were presen~ to Inform the residents of a proposed high line, <br />a portion of ~hlch wilD be Installed ~hrough Arden Hllis. Mr. WeJk <br />showed slides and ~old the hls~ory of the company and the necessity <br />of Increased power and the economlcaU feasl~lilty of high lines. He <br />s~atad that the Northern Sta~es Power Company Is a memb~r of tho Mid <br />Continent Area Power Planners (MAPP). which coordinates utilities <br />of ten mid-continent states and Manitoba, C~neda. MAP? also has a <br />liaison ~Ith the Bureau of Reclamation. <br /> <br />This par~lcuiar high line will originate from the Allen S. King p!~nt <br />on the St. Croix and operate through Washington. Ramsey County to tee <br />station at Coon Rapids. This planning was done In 1963 and Mr. Weik <br />displayed a map showing the routing; he then requested Inquiries from <br />the residents. . <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />The following Information was given In response to some of the In- <br />quiries: advanced engineering has been completed, right of ~8V agents <br />are no~ negotiating In Washington County and they do hav~ a very crltlcsl <br />time schedule. It Is necessary tor the right of way to be 130' ~"d0 <br />and cannot be a common right of way with either the Highway Dept, O~ <br />the railroad company, and must be back tar enough to avoid mass high- <br />way Interchanges. He believes the high line ~I~I have no et~ect on <br />the construction of a service station at County Road E2 and 35W. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilhelm stated that the structures are placed about 1200 teet <br />apart or about 4 to 5 to a mile, with a height of trom 120 - 140 feet. <br />The legs at the base are spaced between 25 - 30 feet apart. The <br />high line will cause no Interference with either radio or television <br />reception. <br /> <br />Discussion continued until 8:10 p.m. Trustee Hoffmann moved, as <br />recommended by Acting Mayor Crepeau, that 'the matter be referred TO <br />the Planning COmmission to arrange a meeting with Northern States <br />Power Company representatives: seconded by Trustee BJorndahl;, motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Roberts Construction Company <br /> <br />John Daubney, representing Roberts Construction Company. was prescnt <br />and explained that this subject building was leased to Satchell CarUson, <br />and each thought the other had applied for the building permit 10 <br />allow the encUosure of the loading dock, with the resuc1 th~t ncne ~as <br />obtained. <br /> <br />Clay Keiley, Building inspector, Informed <br />was Initiated by the Planning Commlstlon, <br />there has been no action by the Council. <br />been fllied out, but no plans submitted. <br /> <br />As recommended by Attorney Courtney, Trustee Hof1mann moved the mattsr <br /> <br />the Council thaY the matter <br />no permit was Issued and <br />Administrative torms have <br /> <br />-1- <br />
