<br />JOINT AND COOPERATING AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING <br />METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there Is no present organIzation which can <br /> <br /> <br />deal effectively with the mass transit problems of the seven <br /> <br />county metropolltaR area; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, other municipalitIes have Indicated an Interest <br />In establIshIng a temporary transit authority to serve until <br /> <br />statutory provisions can be made; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the participation of a majority of municipalities <br /> <br /> <br />In the Twin Cities area Is desIrable for the organIzatIon of a <br /> <br /> <br />temporary transit autborlty under the provisions of the Joint <br /> <br />Powers Act; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> <br /> <br />By the Council of the Village of Arden Hills that the proper <br /> <br /> <br />Village officers be authorIzed to execute the Joint and Cooperative <br /> <br /> <br />Agreement, and that the Village of Arden Hills participate In the <br /> <br /> <br />MetropolItan Transit CommIssion. <br /> <br />Dated at the VIllage of Arden Hills thIs <br /> <br />23 day of May, 1966. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />.
