<br />.... <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting - January 31, 1966 continued <br /> <br />Fire Protection Contract <br /> <br />// <br />Attorney Courtney returned and recommended approval of the proposed .ffre <br />protection contract for 1966 between the Village and the Lake Johanna <br />Volunteer FIre Department and Informed the Council that the contract Is <br />loantlcal with the 1965 contract. Council authorized the Mayor and"Clerk <br />to execute the contract In behalf of the Village. <br /> <br />Home Gas Co. Lease <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the Council that he'had reviewed the two leases <br />from the Home Gas Company regarding the use of the two gas tanks located <br />at the warming houses and recommended their execution. He Informed the <br />CouncIl that the Village does not pay for the use of the tanks, but only <br />for the gas; however, the lease absolves the Home Gas Co. from any liabili- <br />ty from anything beyond Its control. Council authorized execution by <br />the Mayor and Clerk. <br /> <br />Proposed Water Franchise <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the Council that the attorney representing <br />George ReilIng had requested a meeting with him to discuss matters con- <br />cerning the proposed water franchise. The Council agreed with Attorney <br />Courtney's recommendation that Mr. Reiling submit a letter giving the <br />Information previously requested before any more time Is spent on the <br />matter~ Attorney was requested to so Inform Mr. Reiling. <br /> <br />Hazardous BulldlnQs <br /> <br />Engineer Donald Lund Informed the Council that he will submit to the <br />Attorney the names of the owners of two houses which are considered <br />hazardous as soon as he receives this Information from Ramsey Co.. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ENGINEER DONALD LUND <br /> <br />RldQswood Road Sewer Matter <br /> <br />Engineer Lund distrIbuted. maps and Information concerning sewer service <br />for lots 2,3,4,5 and 6, Arden Hills Plat. He stated that a home Is being <br />bul It on lots 2 and 3 which does have a means of connecting to the setler <br />facilities, but a problem wIll arise to service lots 4, 5 and 6 In the <br />future unless an easement Is obtaIned and a line con~tructed across lots <br />2 and 3 at thIs time. Mr. Lund Informed the Council that he received <br />an approximate estimate for doing thIs work at this time' (considering <br />frost depth, etc.) from Rosetown Sanitation for $3,500.00. He Informed <br />the Council that lots 2 and 3 were assessed for sewer, but lots 3, 4 end <br />5 have not been fully assessed. Trustee Olmensuggested and the Council <br />agreed that Mr. Lund check with the owners of lots 4, 5 and 6 to see If <br />they have any plans at this time, and If they want sewer service to these <br />lots. <br /> <br />Hvldsten Matter <br /> <br />. Engineer Lund Informed the Councl I that Mr. Hvldsten has not submitted <br />'a letter as requested authorizing the Village to cut down trees on his <br />property to correct .a grading problem caused by vIllage Improvements; <br />the tree cutters prefer doIng this type of work thIs time of the year. <br />. Trustee Crepeau suggested that Mr. Lund remind Mr. Hvldsten that the <br />work cannot be dons' until this letter Is received. Matter referred to <br />Engineer Lund. . <br /> <br />Red Fox Road Feaslbllltv ReDort <br /> <br />Engineer Lund submitted a report on the feasibilIty of ImprovIng and extend- <br />Ing Red Fox Road, bu~ did not have a suitable map at this time. He Ir. - <br />formed the Council thet the road ~ould be constructed on a 66 ft. rlght-of- <br />way and woulj be stra~ght and centered. This will not require any of the <br />Boss properyy and ~ould leave the II ft. boulevard In front of thIs home. <br />There was dIscussion concerning the assessment against the Boss property <br />as this Is the only residence involved. Mr. Lund stated that the Boss <br />property hos a jrontage of 250 feet. The fact was mentioned that although <br />th0 Bosses ~0uid nat reallze a benefiy ay this time, tne potential aas <br />t~~re of th!s property becoming Indus~rlal.
