CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
. -----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
DATE: April 5, 1990
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: John T. Buckley, Parks Director
SUBJECT: 1990 Summer Park & Trail Improvements
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Trail Improvements
$25,000 is budgeted in 1990 for trail improvements. The Park
and Recreation commission recommended that the Hazelnut Trail
from Stowe north to County Road E be asphalted. This would
complete the trail from Glenpaul to County Road E. I would like
Council approval to:
Have City Engineer Terry Maurer prepare specifications and bids
for asphalting an 8' wide trail from Stowe to county Road E.
Prepare specifications and advertise in April, with bids opened
the week of May 7, and a bid awarded May 14.
. Valentine Park Play structure
$9,000 is budgeted for a new play structure at Valentine Park.
I would like Council approval to get play equipment proposals
from local play equipment vendors with the cost not to exceed
$9,000. Proposals will be evaluated for Council action on May
14.
Hazelnut Warminq Shelter
$15,000 is budgeted for a warming shelter. The Committee
recommended that a new shelter not be considered at this time.
The existing shelter should be remodeled like Freeway Park. The
remodeling would cost under $5,000.
JTB:madlr
.4A
--
