,
wehrman
. bergly
PLANNING MEMO
. To: Arden Hills City Council TIQQes'res
From: Wehrman Bergly Associates, Inc.
John Bergly, Planning Consultant
Subject: Lexington Avenue Planning Study
Date: Monday, April 19, 1990 n. plaza bldg" sle. 220
5217 wayzata blvd.
minneapolis, mn 55416
612 544 7576
The Pl anni ng Commi ssi on revi ewed the inventory and proposed plan
graphics at their last two meetings. Three recommendations were
formulated in support of the concept plans:
1. That a task force of the Planning Commission meet to provide
additional insight into objectives and recommendations. This will
be done either at their regular May meeting or prior to that
meeting.
2. That an amendment to the T.I.F. District be initiated immediately
and put into place as early as possible. Captured tax revenue
would be used for public improvements and possible relocation
assistance for one or two current businesses. Conversations with
Jim Casserly indicate that this could possibly be in place within
45 days.
. 3. That a moratorium be placed on any private development within the
Planning Study area to allow planning to continue vlithout the
pressure of making hasty decisions. It is felt that this action
would be in the best long-term interests of businesses and property
owners within the area.
.
planning' landscape architecture
