,
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
. -----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
DATE: April 6, 1990
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Gary R. Berger, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Lexington Avenue Improvements
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Attached are materials from Ramsey County for the Lexington
Avenue improvements from County Road G-2 to Royal Oaks, and a
letter from city Engineer Terry Maurer summarizing his review of
the attached. Council should take action on the following:
1. Approve the Resolution for the plans numbered S.A.P.
62-651-25.
2 . Approve the Resolution to restrict parking along a portion
of Lexington Avenue.
The cooperative Ramsey County Agreement with the city of Arden
Hills is a draft and can be approved at a later date. Please
. note items 4 and 5 in this Agreement, regarding the westerly
bike path. Staff reviewed the minutes from previous city
Council meetings and at no time has the city approved the
construction of this path. The total project cost is
$86,388.20. The cost of the bike path is $43,181.90 as
indicated in Engineer Maurer's letter. The City has received
its $100,000 from the Army. If the bike path were deleted, the
remaining funds of $43,206.30 could be used for County Road I
improvements.
Council may want to consider directing staff to prepare a
Resolution approving the Agreement but deleting item #4, the
westerly bike path.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If Council concurs with the above, they should pass a motion
adopting Resolution No. 90-16, "APPROVING PLANS FOR PROJECT NO.
S.A.P. 62-651-25", and Resolution No. 90-17, "RESOLUTION
REQUESTING RAMSEY COUNTY TO RESTRICT PARKING ALONG A PORTION OF
LEXINGTON AVENUE". Council may also wish to direct staff to
prepare a Resolution approving the Agreement, but deleting item
#4, the westerly bike path.
GRB:madlr
. attachment
