.'
.
Dear
One of the functions of a City is to maintain its street,
sanitary sewer and water utility systems. Periodically, this
will require the City to enter upon dedicated easements in order
-to gain access to the utility which is being constructed or
repaired. Therefore, it is important that publicly dedicated
easements areas be maintained free and clear of obstructions
which would interfere with the City's ability to maintain its
utility system. This would especially be true in the case of
emergencies.
The City's Public Works Department has recently completed an
inventory of dedicated easement areas. The purpose of the
inventory was to identify potential problem areas so that any .
obstructions could be removed before an emergency necessitates
access by the City.
The inventory indicates that your property is subject to a
utility easement which, over the years, has been obstructed by
the following structures or encroachments:
The above encroachments are to be removed from the dedicated
easement area within 6 months or some other reasonable time frame
that can be agreed upon between yourself and the City. If you
will not be able to remove the encroachment within the suggested
time limit or if you have any questions, please contact the
City's Public Works Supervisor, Dan Winkel, at 633-5676. Thank
you for your attention to this matter.
Very truly yours,
Gary R. Berger .
City Administrator
GRB/lcr
cc: Dan Winkel
