.
MEMORANDUM
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DATE: January 25, 1990
TO: Mayor and Council
FROM: Catherine J. Iaga, Deputy Clerk
RE: Establish Resident Notification Policy for Minor Planning
Commission Applications
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the Worksession meeting held Monday, January 22, Council concurred that a
policy should be adopted which requires notification be sent to property owners
within a 150 ft. radius of the site location when the following planning
applications are received: Minor Subdivision/Lot Split or Consolidation, Variance
or Site Plan Review.
The notification form shall include a brief explanation of the application, a map
showing the site location, the date, time and meeting place.
. The ap?licant shall be responsible for providing the names of the property owners
within the 150 f t. radius of the site with application and this requirement shall
be included on the above-listed application forms.
Notification will be sent by the City to the property owners.
Since the Planning Commission subcommittee is currently reviewing the Zuning
Code, I would recommend this be adopted as a "informalrl policy until such time as
the subcommittee submits any other amendments to the Code; if no other amendments
are recommended, Council could formally adopt an amendment to the Zoning Code
relative to this matter at a later date.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If you concur with the above, Council should move to adopt an informal policy
which requires notification be sent to property owners within a 150 ft. radius of
the site location on all Planning Commission applications which do not require a
Public Hearing and that such notification shall be provided by the applicant at
the time of submission and mailed to affected property owners by the City staff.
.
