Berger, City Administrator SUBJECT: Gateway Business District Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezoning --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attached please find correspondence from City Planner John Bergly and Metropolitan Council Planner Robert Overby. The attached indicates that there are several key issues which need to be addressed prior to the Met. Council's approval. I have scheduled a meeting with Engineer Terry Maurer, Planner John Bergly and Met. Council Planner Robert Overby for Tuesday, January 30, to discuss these issues. . RECOMMENDATION Council can go ahead and conduct the public hearing on Monday evening, but should not adopt the Comprehensive Plan Amendment or Rezoning for the Gateway Business District. When these issues are resolved by Met Council, staff will bring this to Council for final approval and adoption. ACTION REQUIRED Mayor Sather should open the public hearing as soon after 7:30 as possible, ask for questions or comments from the audience, then if Council is satisfied that all issues have been addressed, move to close the public hearing. (Council may also continue the public hearing to a future date and time, which should be set at the meeting, so that the audience will be advised of the date and time the hearing is continued to, so they may attend again if they wish). Council should then advise the audience that approval of the amendment and adoption of the rezoning will take place after Metropolitan Council review and approval. GRB:madlr . attaclunents
