Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br />RB;). TEMPORARY Council was referred to a memorandum from the Clerk <br />POLICE/FIRE Administrator dated 5-11-90 regarding" the request from <br />PROI'ECI'ION, ARMY the Department of the Army for temporary police and fire <br />RESERVE CENTER protection at the Army Reserve Center under construction. <br />Attorney Filla advised the letter dated 5-3-90, is requesting" city approval for <br />the Army to contract with the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department and the <br />Ramsey County Sheriff's Department for their services. Filla stated this my be <br />an opportunity for the City to establish a good working relationship with the <br />Department of the Army and TCAAP. <br />council directed staff to assemble cost estimtes for providing" the police and <br />fire services and requested the Attorney contact the Army representatives to <br />determine the definition of "periodic surveillance" and the level of service <br />requested at the site. <br />PERMANENT APPIMr; Council was referred a memorandum from the Clerk . <br />RECEPI. PAT YEZEK Administrator dated 5-8-90, regarding" the permanent <br /> appointment of Receptionist Pat Yezek, after successful <br />completion of her six month probationary period. <br /> Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to approve the <br />permanent employment status of Pat Yezek, after successful completion of her six <br />lTIOnth probationary period, and authorize a salary in=ease to 85% of the wage <br />rate, $7.94 per hour, retroactive to May 1, 1990. Motion carried unanimously. <br />(4-0) <br />REQUEST PERMIT; Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to approve the request <br />IXXlR-'lD-IXXlR by the Minnesota Freeze Campaign to conduct a <br />CANVASS door-to-door canvass as outlined in their letter dated <br /> 5-8-90. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br />mUNCIL c::c::i'lMEN'l'S <br />JOINT CLEAN-UP DAY Councilmember Hansen complemented employees Mike McKinney <br /> and Joe Mooney for their efforts on May 5, in conjunction <br />with the joint clean-up day oonducted with the city of Shoreview. <br />RCLLG MEETING Councilmember Hansen advised the next RCLIG meeting" will <br /> be held on June 20 at Chippewa Jr. High School; topic <br /> will be drugs. <br />mDE ENFORCEMEN'l' Councilmember Hansen ~ressed concern relating" to recent . <br />LEITERS code enforcement letters received by residents; suggested <br /> this mtter be discussed at a future Council worksession. <br />
