AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE IV, DIVISION I, <br /> SECTIONS 4-1 THROUGH 4-4 TO THE ARDEN HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> RELATING TO ELECTIONS <br /> The Arden Hills City Council hereby ordains that Chapter 2, <br /> Article IV, Division I, sections 4-1 through 4-4 shall be added <br /> to the Arden Hills Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> SECTION 4-1. There is hereby established an Absentee Ballot <br /> Precinct within the City of Arden Hills which will handle all <br /> absentee ballots of the electorate of the City of Arden Hills <br /> received during any election. <br /> SECTION 4-2. The Absentee Ballot Precinct shall be the precinct <br /> in which the City Hall of the City of Arden Hills serves as the <br /> polling place for such precinct. <br /> SECTION 4-3. The election board of the precinct for which the <br /> city Hall serves as the polling place shall be the election board <br /> of the Absentee Ballot Precinct. <br /> SECTION 4-4. Unless otherwise provided in the State of Minnesota <br /> election laws, the Absentee Ballot Precinct shall: <br /> . a. Receive all absentee ballots of the electorate of the City of <br /> Arden Hills for any election. <br /> b. Check the registration of each absentee ballot. <br /> c. Determine the precinct of each absentee ballot voter and <br /> report the results of such election to each precinct with <br /> such results to be tabulated with that precinct. <br /> d. Prepare a list for submission to each precinct within the <br /> city of Arden Hills prior to the close of the election day <br /> for precinct officials to check against the voter <br /> registration file to ascertain if any absentee ballot voter <br /> voted by person. <br /> e. Reject any absentee ballots of persons who had voted at a <br /> precinct making a notation on the envelope of the absentee <br /> ballot as to the reason for rejection. <br /> f. Count the absentee ballots after the polls have closed by <br /> opening them and tabulating the vote of each absentee ballot <br /> voter in a manner which will indicate each vote of the <br /> absentee voter and designate that the vote was received by <br /> absentee ballot. <br /> . <br />
