Berger, Clerk Administrator RE: Lease of Hailing System - Pitney BOHes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attached is a recommendation from Deputy Clerk Iago, to lease a Pitney BOHes mailing system for use by city staff. Deputy Clerk Iago has researched the mailing demands with a representative from Pitney Bowes, and has vieHed three mailing systems manufactured by the company. It is her recommendation to lease the system at the 101' end of the model series, Hith the option to upgrade the system during the term of the lease, if deemed necessary. After review of the attached materials, I concur Hith Deputy Clerk Iago's recommendation for lease of the equipment. In the opinion of t~e office staff, the current mailing equipment has substantiaL repair time, damages mail, and does not operate effectively. It is also hard to change the . postmark on the machine, install ink and Hater and additional postage requires a staff member to remove the meter to bring it to the post office for the upgrade.
