I i"lee'['J ng <br />VIllage of Arden HIlls <br />September 27, 1965 <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Crepeau called the meetIng to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present - Acting Mayor Crepeau, Trustees Olmen, Nethercut and <br />Bjorndah I. <br />Absent - Mayor Ke-nedy. <br />Also Present - AdmInistrative Clerk LorraIne Stromquist, Atty. Vincent <br />P. Courtney, Treas. Worth G. Read, Engr. Donald Lund and <br />Building Inspector Clay Kelley, <br /> <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of September f13, 1965, were approved <br />as amended. <br /> <br />DEANE ANKLAN, RAMSEY COUNTY ENGINEER <br /> <br />Hwy. 110 from T.H. #96 to Hamllne Avenue <br />Mr. Anklan Informed the Council that he had written to the Atty. General requesting <br />an opinion on the procedure regarding the acceptance of state roads whIch have <br />reverted back to a munIcIpalIty and, In turn, the mun&clpallty requestIng the <br />Coun1'y to accept them, but has not received an answer to date. <br /> <br />Mr. Anklan Informed the CouncIl that the State has not relinquished Its rights <br />to Hwy. #10 from Hamllne Avenue to Lexington Avenue as of this date, <br /> <br />Mr. Anklan recommended, Atty. Courtney agreed, that the Council pass a Resolu- <br />tion and submIt It to the County Board to have -j'he County accept thIs road. <br />Matter referred to Atty. Courtney to draft thIs resolution. <br /> <br />Fred NIxon InquIred as to the status of the service road off Snelling Avenue <br />from Arden Place to County Road E. Mr. Anklan stated that he believes that this <br />would become a Village road and would not recom~end that It become a part of the <br />County road system. <br /> <br />Street Name ChangIng <br />Mr. Anklan.lnfonned the Council that roads which have reverted back to the VIllage <br />and are no longer In alIgnment because of freeway construction sbould be renamed <br />by the Village, for example - Hamllne Avenue. <br /> <br />County Road F and Hwy. 610 LIghtIng <br />In reply to an InquIry from Trustee Nethercut, M~. Anklan stated that the County <br />has no control of 'I'he lIght atthls omtersectlon, but belIeves N.S.Po' Co. wIll chagge <br />Its location. <br /> <br />Proposed Improvement of Lexington Avenue <br />Mr. Anklan Informed the CouncIl tha'l' the County has a~ufred the necessary rIghts <br />of way to wIden LexIngton Avenue In Arden HI lis and he believes the project wi II <br />be s'l'arted early In 1966, employIng the County maintenance crew. <br /> <br /> <br />Beach - Concession AddItion <br />informed the unci I that the additIon to the concessIon stand at the <br />be connected 'I'oths sewer as required by the VIllage. <br /> <br />In reply to an InquIry from Fred NIxon, Mr. Anklan stated that the procedure to <br />use to obtain approval to stockpIle sand and salt mIxture on the blakktop area <br />of the boat landIng area would be to submit a request to the County Board; he <br />s'l'ated that he does not belIeve that this stockpilIng would be objectionable. <br />Cl erk requested to write to the County for approva I. <br /> <br />GEORGE M. HANSEN - VILlAGE AUDIT <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen reported on the recently completed cash audIt of the Village accounts <br />for the year 1964. He stated that the employees discharged their duties very <br />well, In a credItable manner and were exceptIonally nice to work wIth. He s'l'ated <br />that the accounts were kept In accordance wIth recommendatIons by the State of <br />Minnesota. Mr. Hansen stated that It Is unusual for an auditing firm to come <br />Into a small vIllage such as Ar.den HIlls and fInd a good bookkeepIng system on <br />their first. audIt. He had no real comment on the General Fund. <br />
