(612) 452-8064 January 8, 1992 Honorable Mayor Thomas Sather and City Council Members Arden Hills City Hall 1450 West Hwy. 96 Arden Hills, MN 55112 Re: Request for City Council Reconsideration of St. Paul Turners Bingo License and their Compliance With Arden Hills 50% Trade Area Contribution Requirement for 1991. Dear Mayor Sather and City Council Members: We, St. Paul Turners, request placement on the January 13, 1992 City Council Agenda for reconsideration of our Bingo license and compliance with the 50% Trade Area contribution. Since the December 30, 1991 City Council meeting, we have reexamined our contribution obligations for calendar year 1991 and have developed a proposal which we believe is in full compliance with the City Ordinance. . As discussed at the Dec. 30,1991 City Council meeting, the 1991 contribution obligation for St. Paul urners is approximately $50,000,. Since that meeting, we have been in contact with several non-profit organizations in the Arden Hills area and have come to some very fruitful conclusions. If placed on the City Council agenda for January 13th, the following contributions will take place: . A $15,000 check will be presented to the Ramsey County School Safety Patrol Foundation. Both Edward Weinhagen, Treasurer, and Mel Fish, member of the Board of Directors, will be present to accept the donation. . A $15,000 check will be presented to Northwest Youth & Family Services. Both Kay Andrews, Director, and Jeanne Thompson, Director of Development, will be present to accept the donation. . Twenty (20) full annual gymnastic scholarships of $1,000 each will be presented to the Mayor and City Council, representing a $20,000 donation to the City_ If any assistance is desired in developing a method for the distribution of these gymnastic scholarships, we are eager to be involved. We trust that these transactions will place us into compliance with the City Ordinance and will clear the way for City Council approval of our bingo license. In addition, we plan to develop future relationships with the YMCA-Northwest Branch and the Arden Hills Park and Recreation Department. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that we might address prior to the Council meeting. We believe we can resolve any issue fully for the January 13 Council meeting.
