. .
. CITY OF ARDEN HILI8
MDDlANDUM
DATE: January 9, 1992
W: Mayor and city Oolmcil
FRaI: Dan Winkel, Public Works SUperintendent rjJ.0
~: Public Works Weekly Report
The changing weather this week has prompted the Public Works crew to
corrplete sanding on Wednesday, 'Ihursday, and Friday. The little bit of
new snow and rain has caused some very slippery road conditions around
town.
We are also attempting to corrplete the task of reading all of the water
meters. The extreme snow conditions have caused the job to take a few
extra days.
'Ihe lift stations were checked every day. The only minor problem found
was a leaky gasket at Lift station #4 on Ridgewood Road and Arden Place.
. The repair work will probably be corrpleted some t:iJne next week.
I contacted a representative from Maaco Auto Body and will be meeting
with her next Monday to schedule the painting of our vehicles. She felt
that they could probably start next week with some of the vehicles.
I have also contacted lee Schealer from Schealer Tapping Service and
told him that we need to find a solution to the wrong size holes and
cooperations that were installed for our flow-meter tests in our master
meter pits. He stated that he has been in touch with the Engineer from
Tri -state Pump and they are working on a solution to the problem.
I have also talked to John Selvog from Techiflow Corrpany. I have asked
him to provide information on-different testing equipment. He claiIns
that he may have a metering device that can be IoclUnted on the outside of
the pipe. He also thought that this meter could detect flow in either
direction. John is also sending information on a new two-way water
meter that could be installed in our master meter pits. As soon as I
get this information, I will forward it to the Council.
If the Council should have any questions, please contact me.
rMjts
M92-10
.
--
