He indicated that a 15 minute time interval for changing
the sign would not provide any distraction for a motorist. Erickson noted that
the current ordinance clearly prohibits any animation or flashing on the sign.
It was suggested that Commission be allowed to review the infonnation received
this evening and continue discussion of this matter or that a task force be
assigned to further review this infonnation and make a reconnnendation to the
Commission.
Members winiecki, Carlson and McGraw volunteered to serve on a subcorrnnittee to
further study this matter and report at the April meeting.
J:iJ:n streicker, representing Zeos Corporation, agreed that Zeos would suJ::xnit an .
application for a Special Use Permit, if so requested, and would have the sign
rewain in compliance with the regulations until a decision is reached by Ccuncil.
He explained that the company is seeking a definite interpretation of the
regulations and how the sign may be utilized. He further stated that Zeos does
not want s=olling on the sign and wishes to avoid distracting motorists; would
prefer a message on the board that may change at various time intervals (Le.;
Grand Opening, Software Available, etc.)
Commission concurred to defer further discussion of this item to the April
meeting to allow the subcommittee to draft a proposal for Commission review.
OIHER PllINNING ITEMS
ZONING CODE Member piotrowski, Chair of the zoning Code Review
AJ>IENrnENTS SUbcommittee, presented members and staff with draft
copies of the proposed amendments to the code.
Commission =ncurred to schedule a worksession meeting to review the amendments
at 6:00 p.m., April 1, prior to the regular meeting.
COUNCIL Counciln1ernber Malone reported on items of interest to
REPORl' Commission.
Conunission questioned if the Economic Development Committee would be reappointed
in the near future.
Malone advised he will discuss reinstating the committee at the next regular .
Council meeting.
