Increase water rates $.44/1000 gallons beginning April 1, 1992 <br /> (This is a 35 percent increase). <br /> 2. Increase sewer rates $.84/1000 gallons begirming April 1, 1992 <br /> (This is a 50 percent increase). <br /> 3. Increases should be put into effect in a Illlllp sum rather than a 2- <br /> step process. <br />. 4. Continue senior/disabled discount. <br /> 5. During 1992, have the Finance Carrnnittee review the cash <br /> requirements and suggest appropriate cash balance levels to the <br /> Council. <br /> 6. Finance Ccnnmittee should review water and sewer rates annually and <br /> make recommendations which will allow for a January 1 <br /> inplementation if a rate increase is needed. <br /> 7. The Council pursue various issues with the Metropolitan Waste <br /> Control Ccnnmission (MWCC). <br /> water utility - <br /> The utilities SUbcommittee reconnnends to Council to =nsider increasing <br /> water utility rates by $.44/1000 gallons beginning with the second <br /> quarter of 1992. The current charge for water is $1. 27/1000 gallons. <br /> 'Ihe current mini1num charge f= water is $14.50 per quarter. The <br /> proposed $.44/1000 gallons increase, would increase these numbers to <br /> $1. 71/1000 gallons and $19.58 per quarter for the minimum charge. An <br /> individual paying the minimum charge would pay an additional $5.08 per <br /> quarter or $20.32 per year. <br />. <br />
