July, 1992
Vol. 3, No.4
MAPLEWOOD
In the past month there have been some very visible changes to the exterior
of the new Maplewood Library. The roofing has been installed, as well as the blue
metal trim along the roof line. The exterior masonry is complete, and framing forthe
many windows is being placed. The building will be closed in within the next several
weeks. The retaining wall to the south of the buiiding is under construction and
should be completed within the month. When all of the masonry equipment has
been moved off the site, fill will be brought in for the construction of the parking lot.
The interior of the building is also undergoing changes. The drywall framing
is being installed, ductwork is being hung and the electrical system is taking shape,
Completion of the building should be in late summer.
The model and blueprints of the new library can be viewed on the upper level
~ of Maplewood Mall near Sears in one of the storefronts, The display was made
possible by Jeff Carver, Marketing Director of Maplewood Mall.
--Alice-Jo Carlson
ROSEVILLE
The site is a beehive of activity-houses being moved, a pool being exca-
vated, trucks and construction equipment everywhere!
One of the three homes has been moved and the other two homes will
be moved after the 4th of July holiday. The pool has been excavated and the
resulting hole has been filled in. The wells on the site have been capped, and
the site should be totally cleaned up by the end of the first week in July.
Bids for the construction of the new Roseville Library will be received in
August. and construction will begin almost immediately to take advantage of
the weather.
--Alice-Jo Carlson
.
