Post, ~ City 1lcoountant <br /> stlIlJEl::T : Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance <br /> At the COuncil's last worksession meeting on May 18, 1992, staff was <br /> directed to obtain cost information regarding long-term disability <br /> insurance . As you may recall, this issue gained visibility as a result <br /> of =ent medical leave errployee, Fred Reed, apparently having no <br /> specific salary continuation after his short-term disability l:enefits <br /> are exhauste:l. <br /> It should be noted that City errployees may apply for long-term <br /> disability l:enefits provided by Minnesota Public Employees Retirement <br /> Association. Mr. Reed is =ently exploring this option. <br /> 'Ihe city's Broker, 'Ihe Ochs Agency, prepared a bid analysis of LID <br /> . carriers and recommends the proposal from Fortis Benefits.
