'Ibe sanitary sewer <br /> maintenance is going very well this summer. <br /> I received a call from Fred Reed on Tuesday of this week and he appears to J::e <br /> doing much J::etter. He continues to have a shoulder problem, hooever, his <br /> doctor indicated he may J::e able to return next month. <br /> On Wednesday, City staff attended an infonnational meeting at the Anny Reserve <br /> site. The Reserve is having an open house on Sunday, September 27, and will <br /> extend an invitation to staff, elected officials and all residents of Arden <br /> Hills. <br />. We had a couple of rain days this week which allCMed us time to catch up on <br /> our vehicle maintenance and service. <br /> The lift stations were checked every day and all appear to J::e working well. <br /> On Wednesday, we took the time to run all of the punps and very thoroughly <br /> check the stations. <br /> The =ew continued to paint the curb for "no-parking" zones in the industrial <br /> area. We also need to paint yellCM curb in the area of Flaherty's Bowling <br /> Alley, as well as replace same parking signs. <br /> Residential water meter repairs were done this week. The =ew found only a <br /> few discrepancies in the readings' during the quarter. <br /> Sometime next week the city will start collecting water samples and testing <br /> for lead. Approximately forty water samples will J::e taken from around the <br /> city. 'Ibis is a mandated program and will continue on an annual basis. More <br /> volunteers are needed for this program. If any of the council members are <br /> interested. in participating, please contact me. <br /> I received up-aated infonnation from Terry Post regarding the 1992 water loss. <br /> As of the end of June, our average loss is only 3.4% and staff will continue <br /> to monitor the situation. <br /> If the couricil should have any questions, please feel free to contact me. <br />. mill <br /> -- -..- <br />
