St~Htll~I~S INt~.

4440 ROUND LAKE ROAD WEST
P.O. BOX 64116' ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA 55164
. (612) 636-0892

PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION SPECIALISTS

July 19, 1991

City of Arden Hills
1450 West Highway 96
Arden Hills, MN 55112

Dear City Council,

Scholls Incorporated has always taken much pride in the visual
appearance of our facility. Literally hundreds of visitors, including
many of our customers, visit our facility each week. The impression
they leave with is important to us and should also be important to the
community. This brings me to my reason for writing.

The approach to our facility has become the equivalent of driving
through a construction site. I would like to list the areas of my
concern.

. 1) The dirt farm on Highway 96 and Round Lake tends to
muddy the road, although I believe they maintain their area
as best they can.

2) The electrical company's storage yard which seems to have
become a permanent fixture near the exit ramp and Round
Lake Road is unsightly. Where are they working? What is
the time table for their completion? Some of this equipment
hasn't moved in over a year.

3) Last but not least is the ongoing deterioration of Round
Lake Road. It has reached the point where even the most
experienced navigator cannot avoid the pot holes, Has
anyone noted that the break up is always first and worst at
the base of Aquatrol's driveway?

I understand and accept the operation of the dirt farm, but feel the
additional aggravation of the electrical storage yard and road
deterioration is beyond the limits of my patience.

Thank you for your consideration, your response would be
appreciated,

Sincerely,
.

Dan Scholl
Vice President
SCHOLLS, INC.

-.... -. ._n_..___. un
