"
-'
CONSULTING ENGINEERS
Maier Stewart & Associates Inc.
June 19, 1992
File No: 520-034-20
Mr. Rick Baker
Everest Group, Inc.
2685 Long Lake Road
Roseville, MN 55113
RE: DRIVEWAY ACCESS TO AQUATROL, INC.
ROUND LAKE ROAD WEST
ARDEN HILLS, MN ,
. Dear Mr. Baker:
My name is Mark Graham and I am the city Engineer in Arden Hills,
Minnesota. As you may know, the city is planning to construct a
major maintenance project this year on Round Lake Road West from
U.S. Highway 96 to the South. Bids will be taken in early July,
1992.
I am writing to you as the Everest Group, Inc. is the property
management representative for Aquatrol, Inc., and specifically,
their driveway access onto Round Lake Road. It appears that a
great deal of water runoff flowing west from this driveway may
contribute to the deterioration of the street. As I see that this
driveway is being rebuilt, we would request that you consider and
implement any construction that could direct runoff into the east
side ditch. This work could be constructing a swale to force
runoff away from the road, placement of small diameter pipe to
capture runoff, placement of bituminous curb or sloping of the
driveway. These options would certainly not need to be expensive
or unusual to construct. The goal would be to direct runoff so
that it flows toward a boulevard or ditch area and not completely
onto the road. I would be happy to meet with you if you'd like to
discuss these options.
. With cooperation from abutting property owners such as Aquatrol,
Inc., the roadway improvements can provide maximum benefit to each
business and the city.
1959 SLOAN PLACE.
