Person, City 1ldmini.strator MTE: Dee....her 18, 1992 stlBJECT: City Facilities - Review of ~ions In discussions with the City's Architect arrl Financial Planner, the following options are forwarded for your review at the December 21 worksession - these alternative costs are extremely preliminary arrl subject to some change. 'Ihe plan for the Public Works facility included sitework ($312,000) arrl the building costs ($1,773,000) for a total cost of $2,165.000. '!he referendum ($2,800,000) included borxling arrl legal costs in addition to some city Hall costs . Listed below are further options for design arrl building costs on the Public Works building. Further details will be discussed 12-21-92 with information from the Architect: . 1) Reduce the building, storage arrl maintenance areas by 10 percent for a total of approximately $2,074,000. 2) Reduce areas by decreasing =ld storage areas by 10 percent for a total of approximately $2,049,000. 3) Reduce area by 15 percent - this option would reduce future space needs for a total of approximately $2,031,000. 4) Use a metal building system (in lieu of precast =ncrete arrl masonry) but use same plan for buildings f= a total of approximately $1,802,000. 5) Use current site, with existing Public Works building used as =ld and miscellaneous storage with minor :improvements, build a Public Works addition next to the current building arrl salt/sand storage arrl site :improvements for a total of approximately $1,725,000, with an additional building for City Hall. 6) Use current site arrl building with :improvements, build sand/salt storage, =ld storage, conply with ADA arrl current codes for a total of approximately $730,000, with an additional building f= City Hall. .
