Person, City 1ldmini.strator <br /> MTE: Dee....her 18, 1992 <br /> stlBJECT: City Facilities - Review of ~ions <br /> In discussions with the City's Architect arrl Financial Planner, the following <br /> options are forwarded for your review at the December 21 worksession - these <br /> alternative costs are extremely preliminary arrl subject to some change. <br /> 'Ihe plan for the Public Works facility included sitework ($312,000) arrl the <br /> building costs ($1,773,000) for a total cost of $2,165.000. '!he referendum <br /> ($2,800,000) included borxling arrl legal costs in addition to some city Hall <br /> costs . <br /> Listed below are further options for design arrl building costs on the Public <br /> Works building. Further details will be discussed 12-21-92 with information <br /> from the Architect: <br /> . 1) Reduce the building, storage arrl maintenance areas by 10 percent for a <br /> total of approximately $2,074,000. <br /> 2) Reduce areas by decreasing =ld storage areas by 10 percent for a total <br /> of approximately $2,049,000. <br /> 3) Reduce area by 15 percent - this option would reduce future space needs <br /> for a total of approximately $2,031,000. <br /> 4) Use a metal building system (in lieu of precast =ncrete arrl masonry) <br /> but use same plan for buildings f= a total of approximately $1,802,000. <br /> 5) Use current site, with existing Public Works building used as =ld and <br /> miscellaneous storage with minor :improvements, build a Public Works <br /> addition next to the current building arrl salt/sand storage arrl site <br /> :improvements for a total of approximately $1,725,000, with an additional <br /> building for City Hall. <br /> 6) Use current site arrl building with :improvements, build sand/salt <br /> storage, =ld storage, conply with ADA arrl current codes for a total of <br /> approximately $730,000, with an additional building f= City Hall. <br /> . <br />
