It is the understanding of Public Works that there is a minimum 10-year maintenance requirement
through the Outdoor Heritage Fund Grant program. Attachment C is the Invasive Species and
Noxious Plant Management Protocols guide provided by Great River Greening. What is required
for long-term maintenance of these specific spaces (26.03 acres) is beyond the Public Works
Department's current standard procedures. If the project is approved to move forward, City staff
will need to determine supplemental resources and create new maintenance programs.
Budget Impact
Project
Hazelnut Park & Chatham NRMB
Floral Park NRMB
Chatham Park
Totals:
Grant amount City funds
$ 54,700 $ 12,000
$ 215,100 $ 26,125
N/A N/A
$ 269,800 $ 38,125
Total Cost
$ 66,700 (Over 3 years)
$ 241,225 (Over 5 years)
N/A
$ 307,925
Long-term maintenance of the 26.03 acres will increase the annual maintenance and operations
budget, the actual amount is not known at this time.
Attachments
Attachment A: Great River Greening Memo/Presentation
Attachment B: Draft Cooperative Agreement
Attachment C: Invasive Species and Noxious Plant Management Protocols
Page 2 of 2
