"
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEHEANDUM
. TO: Mayor and eounci l-hP1:'s
FRCI!: Dorothy Person, city 1ldministrator
DATE: September 17, 1993
SUBJECT: Possible Locations for eouncil Meetings
I have completed my research of available ~ting room for council meetings
with live cable excess and my findings are:
A. Other cities who have approved use of Council Chambers.
. Shoreview - would charge for overhead cost, cable.
. New Brighton - no charge, cable
B. League of Minnesota cities
No cable and roam availability difficult
C. Other Public Buildings
. Mounds view High - cable access, the School District reserves
the right to "bump" if they need space.
. Valentine Hills Schocl - Per cable Commission they have live
cable access, h.It the school is unaware they have this service.
. Again, they have the right to "bump" if space is needed for
School needs.
. The Arden Hills library - No room availability.
Per cable Commission they have live cable access, rot they also
are unaware they have this service.
. Fire station #1 - has cable, fire call may take place. Safety
issues with parents bringing children to meetings and leaving
children unattended and they climb on Fire equipment.
D. Other Private Buildings
Per the cable Commission, private businesses do not have the INET
system (the live cable service) . land O'Iakes, Control Data, MSI,
Ramada Inn, Bethel, or Presbyterian Hames ll'aY otherwise have room
availability .
E. Army Reserve Center - They =ently do not have the INET hookup,
rot there could be a possibility of hooking them up to the system.
Classrooms are available for one monthly Council meeting date, rot
would have to be in the gym on the other monthly Council meeting
date.
DAP:rk
.
