CITY OF ARDEN JIILUl
ME2DU\NOOM
TO: Dorothy person, City 1\dministrator
li'RCM: Brian Fritsinger, r'Nmnmity Planning CDordmaw@j
D1d'E: october 21, 1993
SUBJECT: Roberts site Plan ReView, case #93-23
On October 6, the Planning connnission denied the request for an additional
curb cut onto lJaxington Avenue in this case. One of the arguments of the
applicant for support of the request was the 1990 Lexington/Fox Business
Center Study.
nus study completed by Welmnan, Bergly Associates looked at this area fram
several inter-related purposes inCluding age, use, function, appearance, value
and quality. A large ~ of the study was based on the considerable
change experienced on Lexington Avenue over the last ten years.
. nus study showed a number of alternatives for upgrading the traffic
circulation of this area. Several of which included a potential access to
Lexington Avenue at a location very close to that proposed by the applicant in
this case.
Recently, staff had considered the likelihood of proceeding with some
discussions on this area over the winter. As part of the review of this
request from the applicant, the City Council may want to consider directing
the Planning Commission/staff to undertake additional discussions. In fact, I
would expect the applicant to make such a request at the time of the Morday 's
hearing .
.
