To: Mayor and Council
From: Dorothy Person, City Administrator
Date: December 23, 1994
. Re: Charitable .Gambling Applications
Climb Theatre, Inc. has requested a premises permit for the Big
Ten Supper Club. They have an exected copy of a new lease eff
3-1-94. The Shoreview Arden Hills Lions Club will not have a
lease after 2-28-94.
Several investigative type questions have been raised re: Climb
Theatre. city Attorney Filla indicates that their submitting of
a state license shows the investigative work has been completed
by the State. They have been asked to submit their license,
which they indicate is a base license. However, the Secretary of
State has no such licensed business listed.
I recommend that while they have asked for Council review and
approval Monday, that further investigation is needed. They
could have Council review in January in order to allow for this
investigation time.
Pot O'Gold: J-I' '
The Lions Club and the School District 621~ have indicated they
will be moving into the slots of Concordia singing society and
. of Turners on March 31, 1994. Their applications are also
expected Monday, however, timing for investigation is very
tight. There is no reason at this time for the city to expected
additional investigation, however, further review of specific
documents is needed. Goldie Siedow of Pot O'Gold is expected to
notify the city in writing of the non renewals of licenses and
this turnover by Monday. pending all applications and
information in order, these may come before the Council Monday
p.m.
.
