<br /> . <br /> Arden Hills Council 5 January 10, 1994 <br /> . is from yellow pages advertising, 10% from driving by and 80% <br /> from referrals. <br /> Councilmember Malone questioned whether Dr. Thatcher had <br /> approached Firstar to amend their sign to allow more space for <br /> Dr. Thatcher. Dr. Thatcher stated he had not pursued this <br /> idea. <br /> councilmember Hicks asked Dr. Thatcher if there is any <br /> potential for additional businesses to lease space from <br /> Firstar. Dr. Thatcher stated he would be the only additional <br /> tenant. <br /> Dr. Thatcher commented that he has a 5 year lease with a 3 <br /> year option. He further commented that last Friday evening <br /> the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department was called to this <br /> location. The deputy commented he was quite surprised that <br /> there was no signage to direct people to this business. <br /> Dr. Thatcher would appreciate if he could have a directional <br /> sign similar to the one Firstar now has to direct people to <br /> drive into the parking lot of Firstar. <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that Firstar is aware of the <br /> . city's sign ordinance, and it is unfortunate they do not <br /> assist Dr. Thatcher in his need. <br /> Discussion followed and it was agreed that the applicant has <br /> not exhausted all means of obtaining signage at this location. <br /> The applicant was directed to look into other ways to obtain <br /> signage including the possibility of making application for a <br /> SUP or Variance. <br /> MOTION: Malone moved, seconded by Probst to endorse the <br /> administrative decision made by staff to deny the sign <br /> permit application, and to deny the appeal. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. (5-0) . <br /> ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS: <br /> None noted. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS: <br /> Councilmember Hicks informed the Council he will be attending <br /> the Northwest Youth and Family Services board meeting. If the <br /> Council had any concerns that they would like him to address, <br /> let him know. <br /> Councilmember Malone informed the Council he attended the Fire <br /> . Benefit Association meeting this past week. Various board <br /> members were re-elected. The Association is solvent with over <br /> ---- <br />
