<br />I <br />.. AET #93-1379 - Page 2 <br />I <br /> INTRODUCTION <br />I <br /> The City of Arden Hills is considering improvements to four existing bituminous streets. As <br />I a part of the project study, you have authorized American Engineering Testing, Inc., (AEf) to <br /> conduct on-site subsurface exploration, soil testing and geotechnical engineering analysis. This <br />I report presents the soil and ground water information we obtained at the site, and our associated <br /> engmeering opinions and recommendations based on this data. <br />I <br /> To protect you, AET, and the public, we authorize use of opinions and recommendations in this report <br />I only by you and your project team for this specific project. Contact us if other uses are intended. Even <br /> though this report is not intended to provide sufficient information to accurately determine quantities and <br /> locations of particular materials, we recommend that your potential contractors be advised of the report <br />I availability. <br />. Scope of Services <br /> The scope of our services is presented in our July, 1993, proposal letter to you. Our agreed- <br />I upon scope of services reported herein includes the following: <br />I . Observe current roadway distress/conditions. <br />I . Locate and drill 13 standard penetration test borings to a depth of 6' each. <br />I . Perform soil laboratory testing. <br />I . . Prepare an engineering report which includes logs of the test borings, presentation of the <br /> soil and ground water conditions, the laboratory test results and our geotechnical <br />I engineering opinions and recommendations regarding the following: <br />I - Sub grade preparation <br />{' - Estimated soil factors/R -values <br />I <br />
