I
~ AET #93-1379 - Page 4
I SITE CONDITIONS
I Existing Pavement Conditions
I Keithson Drive
The roadway includes minor patching, although pavement cracking is relatively limited; and no
I distress which is normally associated with soft subgrade soils or local water trapping/frost pop-
outr'is apparent. The surface is distorted, although the distortion is quite gradual and local. It
I appears that the distortion is more likely associated with utility/house service backfill trench
settlement rather than differential frost heaving.
I
Amble Drive
I Amble Drive is a severely distressed bituminous system. Local portions of the road include
II patching and severe alligator cracking. Some surface frost distortion is also present.
I Bussard Court
Pavement distress along this roadway is similar to that at Amble Drive. Distress tends to be
I more severe in the western end.
I Dunlap Street
Generally, this roadway is relatively level, but does include local alligator cracking and some
I bituminous surface scaling. In general, distress is less severe than Bussard Court and Amble
Drive.
I Subsurface Soils/Geology
I We have included the logs of the test borings and boring location sketches in the Appendix. We
refer you to the logs for specific information concerning soil layer depths, soil/geology
I descriptions and density/consistency, based on the penetration resistance (N-value).
:f
I
