ARDEN MANOR
. 4605 PRIOR AVENUE - ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA (612) 636-0553
April 4, 1994
Brian Fritsinger
City of Arden Hills
1450 West Highway 96
Arden Hills, Mn. 55112
Re: Change in Special Use Permit
Dear Mr. Fritsinger,
Please find enclosed the information you requested for the
Planning Commission and City Council to review at their next
meeting.
The reasons we would like to close the Swimming Pool is because
of very poor condition of the pool surfaces, the water leaking
out and the very few residents that use the pool, which does not
justify the expense of keeping the pool open.
Last year the ground outside the pool was saturated with water
. from the cracks in the pool that appears to be coming from the
plastered area of a skimmer. This winters frost has continued to
deteriorate the tile around pool.
While the pool was used quite regularly by only five to six
children, the pool basically got very little use. Several times
last summer when the weather got extremely hot and we had adults
and children combined in pool. Each of these hot days, someone
defecated in the pool and we had to close the pool to clean and
Superchlorinate the pool before we could reopen.
What we WOuld like to do with the pool after we close it, is to
fill in the pool with dirt, remove wooden fence and plant a
shrub and flower garden with the pool apron serving as a patio
area. This would be a positive addition to the appearance of
the Park and office building.
Thank you for your input and consideration !
Sincerely,
e-. -.--) ~. <
-, . //;;/ . ,;c~~
Thomas E.
