I would
like to become a more active member of the world community by
helping to condemn hate crimes and increasing awareness about the
importance of Human Rights. I would like to learn more about your'
organization and contribute what I can to its mission.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I have lived in Ramsey
County my whole life except for two years when I was living in
Germany. This was the first experience I had with discrimination
because I am married to a Turkish man.
. I have visited two Concentration Camps, one which was the first to
have a gas chamber- Dachau. In 1986 I drove through what then was
Yugoslavia, on my way to Turkey, and I shudder to think what Zagreb
looks like today.
What really started my wheels turning, however, is a movie I saw
one week ago- "Schindler's List". As I was walking out of the
theater I realized my passion is to support Human Rights efforts to
the best of my ability. To reach the highest level of humanity
possible in my personal life, at work, and within my community. I
believe my efforts can and will make a difference.
Sincere~
~ .
Diane Akilli
1181 Benton Way
Arden Hills, MN 55112
PH: (612) 490-5067
.
