<br /> AIlDEN BILLS NEWSLETTER <br /> . APRIL 29. 1994 <br /> 1. ADMINISTRATION - <br /> ** Mayor Sather will be attending the Wednesday, May 4 Planning <br /> Comndssion meeting. He is asking that all Councilmembers try and <br /> attend this meeting. ** <br /> A. Reminder: The strategic Planning session is scheduled for Monday, <br /> May 2 at the Ramada Inn, Minneapolis Room from 4:00 pm to 7:00 <br /> pm. <br /> B. Reminder: The second Council meeting in May is May 23 due to the <br /> last Monday of the month falling on Memorial Day, and secondly, <br /> the New Brighton City Council meets on Tuesday. <br /> C. Letter attached from residents Ted & Terry Hoxmeier addressing <br /> their issue of controlling the geese population within the City. <br /> D. Attached is a copy of a letter from Laddie J. Elling <br /> regarding an interest in pursuing a g~lf course on the <br /> TCAAP property. <br /> E. The Local No. 49 contract agreement has been signed by all <br /> affected parties with wage increase effective January 1, and Life <br /> insurance coverage effective May 1, 1994. <br /> 2. PUBLIC WO!UtS- <br /> A. Public Works Superintendent is working with <br /> representatives from NSP who are interested in <br /> installing a radio antennae on one of the City's water <br /> towers. This is planned to be an agenda item for the <br /> May 9 Council meeting. <br /> B. Public Works Superintendent is talking with Cellular One <br /> representatives regarding changing the existing Cellular One <br /> . antennas on the Fernwood Water Tower. This is planned to be an <br /> agenda item for the May 9 Council meeting. <br /> C. Bethel College has questioned their Surface Water management fees <br /> and there may be a possible appeal. <br /> D. All Public Works crew members have attended a day long training <br /> session sponsored by the Local No. 49 in conjunction with other <br /> cities. Topics included how to deal with the public and how city <br /> government is changing. <br /> E. The new personalized security codes will be in effect on Friday, <br /> April 29 at 4:30 pm. <br /> 3. CC1NdDNITY PLANlUNG- <br /> A. Planning packets for the May 4 Planning Commission meeting are <br /> enclosed. <br /> 4. PARKS , RECREATION - <br /> A. Mary L. Gillies from the Parks & Recreation Committee has <br /> submitted a letter of resignation. A thank you letter will be <br /> forwarded to her. <br /> 5. FJ:NllNCl!:- <br /> A. External auditors (Abdo, Abdo & Eick) completed Phase I of 1993 <br /> year-end fieldwork on 4/15/94. They will again be on site 4/28/94 <br /> for punch list cleanup items. <br /> B. Additional 1995 MWCC billings will be $3,429 because of 1993 <br /> underpayments. See notice enclosed. <br /> C. As the Accountant mentioned at the last Council meeting, <br /> $26,474.31 was wire transferred to the Department of Justice as <br /> part of the Oak Grove settlement with the Trust. On April 29, <br /> 1994 it was found that $24,474.31 had actually been wire <br /> transferred due to confusion in the instructions. The full amount <br /> . is now paid. <br />
