The <br /> enclosed statement shows both the estimated sewer service billing your city paid <br /> tor 1993, and the tinal billing to your city tor the same year. <br /> The bottom lina Bh~wn on tha acccmp~~yinq statement i!! the amo~~t your city <br /> underpaid or overpaid in 1993. This amount will appear as a credit or a debit <br /> on the city's 1995 statement of sewer service. <br /> To briefly recap the year, the MWCC under spent its 1993 amended budget by $1.1 <br /> million through a variety of cost-saving initiatives and improved productivity. <br /> However, the savings was offset by a shortfall in projected revenue.. The <br /> variances cancel each another out, bringing our 1993 budget year to a zero <br /> balance. Consequently, there will not be an across-the-board rebate tor <br /> communities on your 1995 sewer service bill, as there haa been in previous years. <br /> At this tiJlle I would also like to provide an update on the Cost Allocation Study. <br /> . In 1993, COllllllission staft conducted a study of the system in response to concerns <br /> expressed by cOlllDunities regarding variability in charges. Although by law and <br /> policy, we are required to bill each cOlllDunity based on their proportionate share <br /> of flow, we felt there were possibilities within these guidelines to improve the <br /> method of billing. You were invited to two different workshops where our staff <br /> shared their findings and listened to your comments. OUr commitment and work on <br /> this effort continues. We will continue to keep you informed on the status of <br /> this study and our recommendations. <br /> As always, your questions or comments are welcome..
