Hwy 96
Arden Hills, MN 55112
Dear Ms. Person:
The Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) has completed construction of the
groundwater extraction system known as the Site A Removal Action. Operation of the new
system will begin Thursday, May 19, 1994. (; cf' ~ ." .' r
.A..lfLr:"~"- 'f,"r,
. As you know, the purpose of the groundwater extraction system is to prevent
movement of contaminated groundwater off of TCAAP. The extraction system consists of
eight wells which remove contaminated water from the ground and pump the water to a
central control house which allows the water flow and concentrations to be monitored. From
the control house on TCAAP, the water is discharged to a sanitary sewer line. The water
then is discharged into and treated by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission Treatment
Plant in St. Paul, Minnesota.
We wish to thank all the parties that were involved in seeing this project through.
Your participation was greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
~?~
Michael R. Fix
Commander's Representative
-
.
