. Arden Hills Council 3 May ~9, ~994 the Commission is decreasing in addition to limited issues that have been identified. Aplikowski indicated that the Saturday, May 2~st program will speak to diversity is being held at the Ramada Inn. Council saw a lack of information, in general, that has been circulated on this project. Aplikowski indicated that the present Committee has indicated their unhappiness in meeting at the Army Reserve, that they would prefer to meet at their homes as previously done, and that they continue to request staff assistance. Council indicated that since it seems to be a lower volume of types of issues in Arden Hills that it does appear that this Committee is struggling; that the interest is no longer as high as previous. Aplikowski indicated they will not be meeting until September. Council requested that the Commission to review its current status and programs. A decision is needed to identify whether the Commission should exist as currently is in place, whether it should become a Committee, or whether there is any need for the committee. Dick Roessler. Chairman from the Public Works and Public Safetv Committee - COMMITTEE UPDATE . Roessler reviewed the Public Safety/Public Works comments on their mission statement. They also reviewed the 1994 objectives which include: water meter evaluation, snow removal on sidewalks and trails, public safety trends, and police and fire department protection contracts. Council reviewed and discussed that they generally agreed with the objectives of ~994 and the Mission Statement of this Committee. They asked for further input as issues come up; further input to the Council as the Committee begins working on different items. council Indicating that Fire Department is in an area that they are particularly concerned about looking at from time to time. Leslie Goldsmith also attended this portion of the meeting. She requested information regarding that what had been the results of the striping lane request for Lexington. Hicks also suggested that the Committee might also want to look at the stripes along County Road E, speed controls, park lanes, turning lanes and parking areas among others. DAVE SAND. CHAIRMAN.
