It is our goal to develop a process to inventory and help clarify the maintenance of rain
gardens. We are in the beginning stages of this process.
Process
1. Inventory the location of all the rain gardens using the address of nearest house
or building.
2. Create a unique ID number for all the rain gardens in the city
3. Using that unique ID# create a file for each rain gardens
a. Inspection notes
i. Determine evaluation criteria which could be poor -good -excellent.
ii. Evaluate the rain gardens condition based on the above evaluation
criteria.
b. Existing planting design
c. Maintenance log sheets
d. Identify rain gardens owner or responsible party
e. Photos
4. Create a plan for how all of the rain gardens are to be maintained going forward.
5. If maintenance and repair is required for an individual rain garden, a list of
materials, quantities, and costs for the recommended work needs to be
determined.
To the City Council
0 We are here to ask for City Council support for the continuation of the rain
garden project.
