. June Minutes Page 11 06/01/94
Chair Winiecki stated within the SUP the Planning Commission
could place an expiration date on the SUP.
Mr. Fritsinger stated he would confirm this with the City
Attorney.
Mr. Rye asked if the area was to be rezoned, it would be
more appropriate to be zoned R-2. Thus, the property would
act as a buffer between the highway, school and single
family residential uses.
Mr. Fritsinger stated if a rezoning is to be considered, it
needs to be as a higher density residential. At the Public
Hearing it was noted that a rezoning to a commercial
designation could potentially allow too many other types of
commercial uses in the future.
Chair Winiecki stated the change in the ordinance should be
recommended as a R-2 district. The Commission should also
. recommend an expiration on the SUP, for a school bus
terminal, of 15 years.
Mr. Carlson felt the expiration would be more appropriate as
part of the SUP rather than the zoning district itself.
Mr. McGraw asked Mr. Fritsinger if the zoning recommendation
is accepted, will the restrictions on the SUP dictate how
the operation will be run.
Mr. Fritsinger agreed.
Carlson moved, seconded by McGraw, to recommend to
Council approval of Case #93-15 with the following
proposed amendment:
A. The Lqnd Use Chart, Section V, E, be amended to
create a new use, "School Bus Terminal" and under
an R-1 district school bus terminals be allowed by
SUP.
.
